Okay.. I have recently been pounding my itty bitty brain over the dosage issue. pull hair

According to Dr. Simeon's protocol he states:

"As we are usually treating a fair number of patients at the same time, we prefer to use vials containing 5000 units. With these the manufactures also supply 10 cc. of solvent. Of such a solution 0.25 cc. contain the 125 I.U., which is the standard dose for all cases and which should never be exceeded"

So, since we (I, many of us) use the 10,000 iu's of hcg powder.... mix it in 10cc's of Bact. Water.. we then, would ACTUALLY be using a double dosage. (at the recommended -GHI- .250 iu's) affraid

Here's the simple math:

Simeon's Says:
5Kiu hcg + 10cc water = .125 iu in 1/4 cc (.25 iu)

My mix w/ Double hcg (10K) IS/SHOUD then BE:

10Kiu hcg + 10cc water = .250 iu in 1/4 cc. (.25 iu)
WHICH IS DOUBLE.

THEREFORE; I would THEN have to cut my shot in half to:

1/8th CC which is .125 iu's for Dr. S's dosage.

Wow.. glad I checked this. It is confusing due to the .125 IU's or .125 CC's involved in both circumstances. Makes it easy to mess up.

SO........ wow. GHI Medical actually hasn't done thier math too well, by prescribing that I do .250 iu's with the 10K/10K mixture. No WONDER I didn't do that great on R1, only averaging 1/2 lb. per day.

SO... I also could have been using the same inj. amount w/HALF the hcg all along. I'm currently down to .150 iu's. I might just go 'crazy' and do the PRESCRIBED .125 iu's (10K hcg/10K water mix) tomorrow. (EDIT: Which, actually, would be twice what he prescribed!??) Dear, dear.

I guess the whole point is: DO the best you can, tweek the results until you find the perfect amount for "you"! woo hoo

this is the same discrepancy i was noticing.
since i had used the GHI medical formula first,
i was going off thier figures, but i guess it's double since were putting in half the water.
So the amount i used on thier procol was 500ius, because i measured to 25 on the syringe as they had instructed.
if that's true, then its no wonder my thyroid function got so lost.
if i go to 10 on my syringe, then i'm getting the 200 maximum dose, not 100ius, right?
and if i wanted to try 125, i have to go to 7cc on the syringe, and move up one half more, so 7.5cc.

THAT Sounds Crazy!!!
i'm scared to even try it.

Are you going to do it???

5000 to 5cc water.
and she's right.
and the reason is that my 5000 ampule of powder needs to last about 25 days.

it is.

...if i do 200iu per day. (20 on the .5 needle) and longer with less, but still close to that.

if i doubled the water it would last 50 days, and i wouldn't be getting enough of the powder under my skin every day.

gmaS has figured out a way to make the powder last just the right amount of days.....

I got my info straight from the protocol.

I'm pretty sure I've been doing a double dose all along. (.125 w/10K hcg and 10K bac water.)

Simeons only put 5K powder to 10K water.

I've read it and re=read it.

Interesting. It doesn't seem to be making much of a difference, EXCEPT that w/hcg it becomes less effective if you go over what Simeon's said.. which IS the .125 iu's injected, from a solution of 5K iu's hcg with 10k water. Hmmmmmmm.

Maybe next time. OR.. maybe tomorrow..

PENNY.. don't go off and change anything drastically unless you REALLY READ and GET the protocol. It made me croxxeyed!! But I'm certain of what I discovered.

That might also explain WHY I seem to lose so littel toward the last of my rounds. I'm just getting too much.
