| On R1P2 I did some traveling with success at staying on the protocol, but it was huge amount of work and they were business trips so I didn't really have any social obligations... My husband's 20 year class reunion is coming up the weekend of October 19th and we will be traveling for 4 days. We are driving and staying with family so I would be able to stay on protocol but I think that it might be a hinderance to our plans for the weekend. I will be on shot day 23 when we leave and Simeons protocol states that "an interruption after the 20th injection is merely a loss of time" and that since it is an interruption of less that two weeks that I can resume the injections and VLCD upon my return. The interruption plan says to increase your calories to at least 800 per day by adding eggs, cheese and milk to your diet... Has anyone tried this and what were your results after resuming the protocol? I am so close to my goal that I don't want to take the chance of messing anything up in the home stretch. _________________

| Did you do the interruption and how did it go? I will be off hcg P2 for about 4 days because of menstration and I'm wondering if I can eat some turkey and veg for Thanksgiving. It would seem like the first day of P3 but I want to carry on with injections for about 1 week more. Any suggestions. It would be nice for 1 day as I'm having my family over. |

| I am taking the holidays off because I don't want to mess up the diet. It is too expensive to do all this and I am not going to waste hcg just for a piece of turkey, some stuffing and maybe a piece (or 2?) of pie. If you decide to eat on Thanksgiving, you will lose time, probably gain weight and waste hcg (unless you don't do an injection that day). Having said that, if you decide to take that day off, just consider it the same as all the "bumps" we talk about here. Pick yourself up and start again  I do not intend to let this diet be torture for me. If there is an occasion (Yes, Thanksgiving, with the family there and all my favorite foods IS a worthy occasion :D ) and you want to enjoy the whole of the experience, DO IT. Life is too short to cause yourself torture that is unnecessary. If you want to finish out a week after, do it, then on to p3. But make your decision about it, don't look back, don't turn it into a guilt trip afterward. If you do it, just ENJOY it and move forward! :sunny: _________________

| Well, it doesn't sound like anyone out there has any experience with the interruption plan Simeons has laid out in the protocol...so I have officially decided to give it a try and hopefully it won't have any catastrophic results. I will give myself my last injection (injection #22) on Monday, 10/15 and continue the VLCD for the following two days (Tue&Wed) and then be "off program" for four days (Thursday 10/18 - Sunday 10/21). I will pick right back up with injection #23 and VLCD on Monday 10/22. Hopefully all will go well and I will not have any weight gain, only a loss of program days. I will post my progress for the interruption here and in my journal for future reference! Wish me luck!!! PS...if anyone has a different interpretation of the interruption plan as laid out in the protocol please let me know...:D _________________

| | Good luck. What I can see is if the hcg is out of your system you can eat like P3. I don't see you gaining weight unless you eat starch or sugar. You can then start injections again along with the diet. You will only lost a little time. |

| I am there with you! I have been checking back even though I know she wasn't back yet!! it gives me a little hope that I can do it if need be, and if I give myself permission to take a few days off, then I most likely will not!!!
I am anxiously awaiting the results.......... |

| Well, today is the 21st! I wonder if Andrea is back yet? Maybe she is waiting until tomorrow's weigh-in to tell us how it went. _________________

| This reply is also posted in my journal... Back on R2P2 after 5 day interruption....
Well...I made it back in town and am officially back on R2P2 picking up EXACTLY where I left off on Injection day #22 with the exact same weight as injection day #21. YEA!!!
Here is a summary of my weigh in numbers...
Injection Day #21 137.3 VLCD #1 136.6 VLCD #2 136.6 Interruption Day #1 135.9 Interruption Day #2 136.2 Interruption Day #3 136.7 Interruption Day #4 136.2 Interruption Day #5 137.3 Injection Day #22 137.3
So...all in all I am happy with the results, it would have been nice to stay at the 135.9 or be even lower...BUT...my goal was to not go over the last shot day weight and that's exactly what I did!!!!
I was able to walk everyday on the treadmill for 45 minutes and I was careful with my eating (no starch and no sugar!) but I did indulge in almond butter and trail mix (homemade). Oh...and I had a few cocktails at one of our parties (a Greyhound which is vodka and grapefruit juice).
I do think that the Interruption plan was the best way to go for me and would recommend it for anyone that has to do an unexpected trip as long as you are careful with what you eat!
I have three weeks to go and my ticker shows 11.3 pounds to goal (which I haven't decided if I will lower it yet or not)...I'll see how this week goes. I feel pretty sure that I can make the 11.3 at least! _________________

| Thank you for the information! that is great that you are where you were when you started. That gives me hope should I want to take an interruption. I think I won't but mentally if I have a choice it makes my brain happy. For me its all a mental game.
Great job and keep it up!!! |

| That is awsome that you were able to maintain so well while out of town. You will make that 11.3 pound goal, no problemo _________________
