PostSubject: Interruption plan   Tue Apr 01 2008, 10:36

How long can an interruption plan be? Can you go into P3 for 2 weeks and then go back to P2 for 2 more weeks or does your second half of P2 need to be at least 23 days?

Here is why I am asking...I am gathering info now to make a decision on whether or not to go back to P2 to lose the lbs that I have gained in the last 11 days.

I did 30 days of P2, I am on my 12th day of P3 and my weight keeps creeping up. I am just not going to be happy here no matter how hard I try to tell myself that this is where my body wants to be. I am going to do another P2 round and I am just trying to decide whether I do it now or wait a few weeks. I would rather do it now and hopefully not have to do 23 days of injections which is why I am considering calling it a 2 week interruption. But if I have to do 23 more injections either way then I will wait a few more weeks.

One thing I do know is that I NEED a menu much like what we have for P2. With limits in place, I am going to start working on something for myself with a daily checklist, for instance once I eat a handful of nuts...then that is it for me for nuts that day, same with cheese and dairy. Winging it is not good for me...I just do not have the control I thought I had. Stupid thing is I had an almost perfect P2...I had 2 meals that were off protocol and one of them was just some extra meat that night because I was especially hungry. Only the first which included a piece of cake ended up with a weight gain. I know I can do it if I have a VERY set plan in place, it needs to be in black and white, where I can check off my items as I did in P2.

Anyway, anyone have any info or thoughts on the interruption plan...I just need to know how many more injections I HAVE to do if I go back into P2 in 2 days.
Thanks for the help.

I think you will be just fine without going all the way to 23. Just count this as an interruption. Dr. S talks about interruptions as just that. And if you begin p2 again before 2 weeks are up you don't have to gorge again, just start the injections and VLCD. If you go beyond the 2 weeks he says to gorge, but I've done a mini gorge (just eat and enjoy - not much gain at all). You haven't had much time to deplete the normal fat reserves in your muscle or gone out of your way to burn up excess calories, so you shouldn't have trouble with needing to recover those fat stores. Just consider it a break and "finish" your p2. This is what I've been doing since starting up again in January, just short breaks here and there: 2 week, 2 weeks, a big cheat meal, just enough to get me going again.

The 23 days is to give the hypoT a rest. That is its recovery period. So, you've given it a rest, then taken a couple of weeks on p3, which haven't been really very stressful on it, then you will be back on p2 again and it will continue its vacation. So, I am pretty sure you will be just fine a-ok

Linda, thank you so much for the advise! I still have not decided what to do, I found another post in Shana's thread that says that as long as injections are started again before 20 days have lapsed then it can be considered an "interruption" So I am just going to keep going for a little bit longer and see where I am at mentally and weight wise and make a "call" before 20 days are up.
