| I would throw away the NaCl.
Next depends on what kind of needles you are using and what concentration you are looking for.
For example: If you want 125iu per day then you have 40 days per 5000iu. If you mix 8cc of water then your daily injection would be .2cc
If you want 150iu per day then you have 33 days per 5000iu. If you mix 6.7cc of water then your daily injection would be .2cc
If you want 175iu per day then you have 28 days per 5000iu. If you mix 5.7cc of water then your daily injection would be .2cc
If you want 200iu per day then you have 25 days per 5000iu. If you mix 5cc of water then your daily injection would be .2cc.
That is probably the most common daily doses and the other variable is how much volume you want to inject per day. Many are using .2cc and have found it easier and less bruising then diluting it with more water and say injecting 1cc per day.

| I use 5000 Iu ampoules. to mix i always use 1cc of bacteriostatic water with every 1000 IUs, so that is 5cc bac water for my 5000 IU ampoule. I use little insulin syringes with short needles. If you mix like this the injections are just tiny! Here is how to adjust for dosages:
250 IU = 25 units (on insulin syringe) = 0.25cc 225 IU = 22.5 units (on insulin syringe) = 0.225 cc 200 IU = 20 units (on insulin syringe) = 0.2cc 175 IU = 17.5 units (on insulin syringe) = 0.175 cc 150 IU = 15 units (on insulin syringe) = 0.15 cc 125 IU = 12.5 units (on insulin syringe) = 0.125 cc
Do you know the proceedure for mixing? _________________

| Oh wait - I'm confused again. What if I had 5000 IU's and wanted to play around with the doses such as starting out with 140 IUs, but then bump it up by tens or drop down to 125 IUs to see which is right for me. If more water is added to match each dose how do you bump it up and down without getting diluted IUs? _________________

| No Christine, you don't add more water. If you mixed according Grammasmitty instructions above, all you have to do is draw more or less up in the syringe. So, if you want to do 140 iu's, you would draw up into the insulin syringe up to the 14 unit line or .14 cc's, if you want 150 draw up to the 15 unit line or .15 cc's and so on... make sense? _________________
