Need help with mixing and injection (10,000 iu)

I have tried to research this, but have read different things and confused.
If I have 10,000 iu and want to do 175 dosage, how much bac water do I mix with hcg and what amount (cc) for injections?

Hi Michele, You didn't say how much of the liquid you want to inject so I'm just going to give you as much info as I can without knowing that. First off before I start, let me say welcome

and glad to know that you too will be one of the big losers here before long giggle

First I will tell you how I do it: I only like to inject very small amounts so I mix for .20 cc's. I use the very, very small insulin syringes (.50 cc) and the gauge is 31. The higher the gauge the smaller the diameter of the needle, the length I use is 1/4 inch (I think). So, if I want to mix for a dosage of 175 iu's, I take the amount of hcg that I have which in your case is 10,000 iu. I divide that (10,000) by the number of iu's I want in each individual shot and that gives me the number of injections that I can get from one 10,000 iu ampule which comes to 57.14.... So I round that to 57. So I can go 57 days on that one ampule. With me so far? Then I take the number of injections - 57 and multiply that by the amount of liquid that I want to inject. For me, the smaller, the better so I go with .20 cc's. So, .20 times 57 equals 11.4 cc's. So you will need to draw up 11.4 cc's of bacteriostatic water to mix with the powder to get the dosage you want. I usually take all but .20 or so and put it in the sterile bottle then take the .20 or less and mix it with the powder and then inject that into the sterile bottle and swirl it around a little to mix it all up. Thank you......that makes sense now. I was wondering why I had a formula for 1cc dose and .5 cc dose. That is what confused me.

I have 27 G x 1 1/4" needles......I plan on IM injections and not all the way in.

The math formula for figuring how to mix is:

IUs per ampoule / IUs per dose = doses per ampoule
THEN
doses per ampoule * cc per injection = total water for mixing

Your numbers would look like this (using .5cc per injection):
10000 / 175 = 57.14 (we'll say 57)

57 doses * .5cc = 28.5cc bacteriostatic water. You will need a 30cc sterile sealed glass vial.

Please do not use the plastic vial the b/c water comes in. Your hcg may lose potency if stored in plastic. If in glass, and kept in the frig, you should have no problem with it staying good for the whole 57 days.

This was the last thing on my list then....got my HCG and I am ready to go. Now I just have to wait for TOM (which is not actually dreaded this time) and I am off and running.

If you need 33.3 cc of bac water to mix up your hcg, but the vials only hold 30 cc....what then?

You either need a bigger vial or smaller amount of water for injecting. I personally would go with the smaller amount of water. The more water I use the more I bruise so I use only .20 to inject.
