where do you inject???

My mom and i are trying to decide where all we can inject on her. She is a little nervous about her arm. The needle is 1 inch. We used to use a 1/2 inch needle and she wasn't worried but now with the bigger 1 we don't know all the places we can use. Thanks.

I use the upper arm, kind of behind the middle, the upper thigh, and back of hip. Anywhere there is less fat to go through. Hubby likes his right in the butt cheek, thigh, and upper arm. Don't worry about hitting bone unless you are getting really thin at the shoulders. But that's why I go off center, just in case :D And studies have shown that subQ is just as good as IM. So, not to worry. I am sure most of mine have been subQ, and you know how I've lost!!! :sunny:

So do you do a variety of injections spots and a variety of SubQ and IM?

That is great to hear you don't think it makes a difference, cuz I was all over the board will IM and Sub Q as well as raising and lowering doses. How's a person to know?

Now that I am doing subQ I just do it in my belly. I know others use the front of the thigh. I rotated locations only when I was doing IM injections.

Does it make a difference as far as where you lose the weight as to where you inject? Like if you inject in your belly do you see better results in your belly or does it matter? Thanks!

You lose all over - regardless of where you inject. I have found with IM, I like the thigh the best. I grab a fold and inject! I just switch thighs each day. I tried my back area, but it was akward. Never tried my arm, too hard to pinch up an area and inject. Good luck!

Gail,

You can't have much of a "fold" b/c you're so little. About where on your thigh do you inject, the inner, or outer thigh and how far up?

I'm thinking seriously about starting injecting insted of sublingual b/c it just seems to me that works better for some ppl. The only dwnside is I'm terrified of needles. What size do you use?

I inject on the top of my thigh, up high. I try to pull up muscle to inject into. When you grasp the flesh like that the needles slips in more eaisly. I think I have 1 inch needles, 25 gage. I was a little scared at first, but it's no big deal now. I just plunge it in, pull back on the syringe to see if I hit a vein, if no blood shows, I inject!
