| ok yesterday and today i've been feeling really weak, light-headed and dizzy. at times even short of breath, like im gonna pass out any minute. I've followed the diet perfectly for 30 days and never had a problem until yesterday.
last night i ate some yogurt at work, but it didnt help much. when i finally got home from work late at night, i ate some grilled chicken and shrimp salad before bed.
I woke up this morning and lost a pound. Ate my usual lunch and about an hour later the same dizzy and lightheaded feeling came back. I left school early cause i felt like i would pass out any minute. Couldn't catch my breath and felt so faint. tried drinking some orange juice, even had some chocolate. they both helped for about 30 min. and then the feeling came right back. i felt myself losing it, i could barely drive home.
WHen i finally got home i went on a calorie-fest. i totally lost control i ate about 20 crackers with peanut butter and nutella! i cant believe how much i ate i feel so GUILTY. although the lightheadedness is gone and my energy is coming back (i finally feel normal again). But i cant believe how badly i strayed from the diet, after 30 days of no cheating i lost all control! i was like an animal! HELP!! |

| Dear One, Take a deep breath, and another, and consider yourself hugged by all of us. Allow yourself to relax :flower 2: please. I understand that you feel bad, but don't look at the last 31 days and
only see the 1 that was off-course, please focus on and celebrate the
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30 days when you were on-course!!!
And remember, this is the hCG program and all is not lost. Try not to add to the error by stressing and feeling bad and :oops: beating yourself up. We still love you :air kiss: and support you. If those things were happening to any of us we might react the same way, ya know? :sad3:
Do you have the actual Pounds & Inches protocol? Dr. Simeons speaks about low blood sugar, which sounds like what possibly you were experiencing, and tells how to handle it. If you don't have the protocol, e-me and I'll send it to you as a word.doc so you can have it on hand. If you DO have it, go back over it and see what he says.

| Girlie, we all know what you are going through! Either we've done it ourselves, or sure wanted too!! You listened to your body, and reacted. I definitely would go back to Pounds and Inches and see what it says. Also, just in case, I would have some extra protein on hand just in case you have to have something. Protein should help, and you won't feel so guilty. The other thing I would consider is the potassium tabs. Definitely read more about that on this site. I have been meaning to pick some up. I do have some lightheaded moments, and I would like to combat them if I can. So, no guilt, no regrets, just pick yourself up and carry on! | From your description it sounds like you might have had a hypoglycemic attack - I get them sometimes and feel exactly that same way (& I'm a little worried about having them once I start the protocol). I believe the good Dr mentions keeping a teaspoon of sugar around for such occasions so I plan to keep some sugar packets w/me at all times (& just hope I don't have to use them). And like the others said, please don't beat yourself up !! You've done incredibly well - just forgive yourself and move on. Here's a big hug from all of us.....  |

| well i re-read pounds and inches and its absolutely true, i was experiencing hypoglycemia. I know because after i binged like crazy on sugar, i felt so much better, my body temperature went back to normal, i stopped sweating and trembling and my head felt better. WOW.. i've never experienced anything like that before, it was so scary! Dr. S says if this happens the patient should immediatly eat two heaping tsp of sugar. he also says that if the patient eats the 2 tsp of sugar, there will be no gain if it was truly hypoglycemia and that this is actually common toward the end of a cycle or when a patient nears his normal weight. well i had probably closer to 12tsp of sugar so we'll see what the scale says tomorrow...

Glad you are feeling better! It is important to listen to your body and if you are feeling that badly you have every reason to react. Now that you've reviewed the protocol you know the better option available if there is a next time. I just want to say for all those hypoglycemics out there that I'm one too and I have not experienced any problems on Phase 2 after almost 2 weeks. Of course I get bored with the diet sometimes and wish I could have something I can't but I haven't experienced any dizziness or light headedness that I have felt before due to low blood sugar.

| Aw, Kisses, don't worry about tomorrow. It is ONLY a number! If it goes up, so be it. You know how to bring it back down :cheers: We've all done it at some point. Just pick yourself up and start again from where you are. Are you keeping a record of what you eat? Measurements? Weight? It would be interesting to see if you can pick out any trigger that brought you to a binge . . . other than total boredom on the VLCD that is :laughing 2: :laughing 2: _________________
