but then I have really bad arthritis. This is not good as I am a pianist and and avid sewer.
Many days I just can't grasp a pen to write, it is hard to type or even open jars.
This is what I do to help with the feeling.
First, warmth helps. Grabber makes little hot packs that slip right into gloves. The gloves look like mittens, you peel the mitten part back and you have fingerless gloves. You can find these at most any sporting goods store. I got mine at Sports Chalet. Anyhow, you put the hot pack into the pocket for it and the warmth helps out with the discomfort. I just pop em on, leave them on for a half hour to an hour.
The hot pack will remain hot normally for about 5 hours. If the discomfort comes back, I pup the gloves back on.
Also, the nail ladies where I get my hair done do parfin wax dips (you can do them at home as well) and say that many of the women with discomfort in their hands swear by these wax dips.
I just do the whole glove trick. If funds are tight, get the mittens and get the small hot/cold packs near the ice cube trays at walmart. Heat up some water in the microwave and dunk them in. I wouldn't nuke the hot/cold pack as I bet it would blow up in the microwave. They cost about $1.25, they are blue and reusable.
