PostSubject: Skin brushing?   Mon Feb 18 2008, 12:13

I just started day one of HCG injection, so am on first load day. I was planning on doing skin brushing while doing the HCG shots to further reduce cellulite (of which I have a lot of at the moment!) and thought it would be a good addition to the protocol. But just finished reading the last of Simoens Pounds and Inches and he was very against getting massage. I loaned out my KT book so couldn't remember what he said. Does anyone have experience with skin brushing while doing the HCG shots? If it is going to be counterproductive I don't want to do it, on the other hand if it is going to be more helpful then I want to. But am at a loss of what to do...Checked google on hcg skin brushing but never found anything. Any help would be appreciated. :) Caitlin Lorraine greet 3

Hi Caitlin! Glad you found the forum!!
I'm not familiar with skin brushing but I do know that Dr. Simeon's manuscript does advise against massages. It's something about the way that a massage redistributes and moves the fat layers under the skin around. Somehow it must interfere with the job that hcg is doing in mobilizing all the abnormal fat. So yes, everything I've read is against massages only during the vlcd portion of the protocol.

Again, we're glad you found the site, if you have some time let us know more about you and your progress. Good Luck Loading!!!

During phase 2 skin brushing is a great exfoliant and massage is okay too, provided that it's a dry massage without any lotions or oils. KT recommended a Thai? massage (I think it's called)during phase 2 , where you are massaged fully clothed with no lotions or oils. I am on round 2 with 8 more days left and skin brushing has kept my skin very soft without using oils or lotions. I started using coconut oil during phase 3 and love it, but have not used it much during injections. I understand that if you have to use something (because your skin is cracking), coconut oil is the one to choose over mineral oil.

I used coconut oil during my entire time on Phase 2 and it did not have a negative effect on me. I used it in cooking and on my skin.
