| I've recently damaged my Achilles tendons and have started Physical Therapy to help improve them and hopefully prevent further damage and surgery. Bums me out because I really enjoyed my 10-15 minutes of rebounding and now I can't do it (maybe if I'm on my knees??? :D )
One of the procedures they do during my PT is some muscle massage on my calfs and ankles and of course they use a little bit of lotion...I am planning on Starting P2 in 10 days and I am freaking out about this little bit of lotion! The kind they use is a lanolin/mineral oil mix, and I know I've heard that you REALLY need to stay away from Lanolin while on protocol. They have said I can bring in my own lotion so my question is, what should I bring in for them to use that will have the least impact on my weight loss?
I REALLY don't want to put off starting P2. My PT will be 2/week the first week and then once a week for the next 10-15 weeks. I really can't afford NOT to do the PT...I've got to take care of my ankles. (Maybe a weight loss would also help them out)
Has anyone else had to continue with PT during P2? What lotions would be the best for me bring in for them to use? (They use about 1/2 teaspoon each time I go.)
I've waited so long to start P2, I don't want to sabatoge it!!! _________________ Kami

| I haven't had PT, but have continued to use ALL loctions and creams during P2. It has never slowed down my weight loss. They say that the molecules are too large to be absorbed into the system. They stay in the skin and by the time it finally gets in any farther, the skin has broken it down so much that there is no prolem with it.
Give it a try and see what happens. _________________

| | I agree with Gramma, I seriously doubt that the lotions will not affect your weightloss in any way. There was a person who posted that a friend of hers is a chemist and said that the molecules do not get absorbed into the system. Just enjoy the massage and don't worry about it! |

| Thanks for the input...I knew that mineral oil will not penetrate because the molecules are too big...
Thanks Michele, I have those lotions on-hand, so I feel much better about it...all of this happening right before I'm supposed to start is frustrating! _________________ Kami
