| | Are we allowed to use hair care products? I usually just put some oil in my hair-nothing big. Is this ok as long as I don't put it in my scalp area? just mostly at the ends-that won't absorb into my body-also what lotions are individuals using for the body? can I use vasoline? I work in a freezer chap stick and some sort of lotion are necessary? anyone please? I am washing my hair and body with natural soap. Thanks all! |

| A chemist advised one of our members that the lotions we have available to us these days is fine to use during the protocol. They are made to stay in the skin and by the time anything enters the system, the skin has broken it down so nothing would effect the diet anyway. Make sure your products have no lanolin as that WILL absorbe into the system.
My first p2 I used NOTHING and my skin was like parchment! My second round of p2 I used all my lotions, creams, conditioners, everything. I still lost 43 lbs that round. So, don't worry about it. Just take care of your skin so it will respond to the hcg and shrink/tighten as it should. _________________

| I did not use anything on my skin in R1P2 and I was completely miserable. I did however use all of my hair products with no problems whatsoever. I am now on R2P2 and I am using body lotion (natural of course) and a little more make-up than in R1 and my Perricone eye cream all without any problems... _________________

| | Dangit-I wish I would have checked this post a little sooner. I just went to the health food shoppe and bought 'all natural" hair care products and body wash. Not only did it cost a fortune-but my hair is gross and the body wash does not even lather-I smell like a bum =( |

| Oh no!!! I don't suppose you can take it back and tell them how terrible the products are????
The best body soap I've found is from Kiss My Face. It comes in a bar, different scents. LOVE IT!!! I am thinking about cutting a bar up and soaking it to make body wash instead of the bar. Probaby won't, but I've done it with homemade soap for laundry purposes. Works GREAT as a liquid!! :sunny: _________________

| I use organic olive oil as a body oil and I also put it on the ends of my hair and keep my hair in a towel for a few hours or even over night on the weekends for a deep oil conditioner. If you have dry skin like I do, mix organic sugar with the olive oil for a body scrub!! Works great!! You can get the organic sugar and olive oil cheaper at WalMart. WalMart also has an Organic olive oil hair conditioner that you can use once a week for deep conditioning. It costs 1.99 and you can find it in the shampoo section for African Americans. I use this once a week and add the olive oil to my ends. I have a thyroid condition and my hair is really dry and this works great!!

| I don't know anyone personally who changed hair care products, but all were told not to rub anything into the scalp. From Dr. S.In such cases we permit the use of plain mineral oil, which has no nutritional value. . . We do permit the use of lipstick, powder and such lotions as are entirely free of fatty substances. We also allow brilliantine to be used on the hair but it must not be rubbed into the scalp.
Baby oil is mainly mineral oil. |
