PostSubject: Heart Burn / Indigestion   Tue May 06 2008, 08:46

Has anyone else experienced heartburn and/or indigestion while on P2? I've only been on VLCD for 4 days and I've had it since I started. I vary the fruits and veggies and I've never had a problem with heartburn or indigestion. It feels like I've got a weird spot right in the middle of my chest. What causes this and what should I do?

Try taking an enzyme capsule with each of your meals and a good probiotic in the morning on an empty stomach. These should help. Are you taking coffee or anything more acidic than you are used to having? If not, then I would say the enzymes will definitely help. They not only help with the digestion but also with elimination which tends to be a problem when eating so little food especially fiber. Apple cider vinegar has been helpful for many people - add a little to your salad as salad dressing or just mix it with warm water and drink it. For some people the ACV actually gives them heartburn so you just need to try it and see how it works for you. The enzymes though are very good.
