| Subject: Foundation make-up phase 2 Sun Aug 12 2007, 16:05 | |
| KT book says no make-up should be used during phase 2 except lipstick, face powder, and eye pencil. Is everyone really NOT WEARING make-up during phase 2? I really, really need foundation, as well as mascara (as I have blonde eyelashes, thus no eyes without it). Any suggestions out there? |

| I couldn't give mine up either...I am on stage and teach classes and would look ghostly Anyway...I changed the foundation brand (I only wear it on Sundays...do powder on other days). I still used my eye make-up too. I lost 23 pounds on P2 the first round...which is NOT a pound a day, but still better than any diet I've ever done! _________________ Denise

| My mascara/eye make-up remover is oil free. Wondering if I could still use mascara (and eye make-up remover) on phase 2? Isn't lipstick FAT? I wonder why it is allowed,? Also, when you said you lost 23 lbs in phase 2 (which was not 1 lb a day), I am wondering how much you had to lose to begin with? |

| I always used water to wash my face. Losing 23 pounds was almost 1/2 of what I needed to lose...I am trying to lose around 50 pounds. I'm in the chatbox if you have anymore questions _________________ Denise

| I use the mineral powder type foundation and powder blush and mascara... I don't think it had any negative effect on my weight loss. I think Banshee did some research about the lotions, etc. Do a search for lotions. It appears there is no harm in using because the molecules are too big to pass through the skins' protective barrier. Check it out. |

| There are also alot of orgaic products out there. Just a thought... I use a mineral powder foundation and I like it alot better than any other foundation. I'm jsut getting started so I don't know how it will effect the weight loss yet. _________________

| Pandi...I'm one that normally tried stay as strict as possible. I did wear minimal makeup only when I went to church. At work I'm in a back area that no one will see me so I left it off at work. I think someone put that they tried some lotion or something and noticed either a spike or no loss. I'm just not sure from memory but I would say to go back and read journals. You can really learn alot from them. The other thing is to just "test it out" if you feel like you absolutely can not do without and see how you react. I dont think we should EVER test out the food or do any variance, however, if you feel its a necessity then you may have no choice. I know when "S" write the proto. he stated that someone was putting eye cream on his artificial eye and it had a reaction and the other example was a woman who was putting her creams into new containers and she stalled her weight loss. She was not actually even using it--just touching it when she put into containers. I would also rec. reading the website banshee posted to see what it has to say. Hope this helps you make your decision. _________________ GT gram

| Pandi...I'm one of those people who questions everything! I have to have all the pros and cons in my lap to make my decisions! It took me 2 months to decide to use the hcg and I more or less did it to just see if it works after I found that it could not harm me in any way! It does work! I also dislike discomfort...dry skin makes me miserable, so I looked for answers there as well. My answer was to go ahead and use my facial moisturizers and body lotions based on all the facts I researched about the permiability of the skin.
I'm now on DAY 20 and I have lost 20 lbs! Using moisturizer apparently does not effect my weight loss! I'm also doing several other things Simeons cautioned against in his 1953 manuscript and have not suffered from a lack of losing. Like GTG says, do what will work for you! _________________

| Yeah, that's definitely the hardest part about Phase 2, isn't it? When you have to be somewhere important, it's impossible not to want to look your best!
We went to a wedding recently and I thought I was going to be fine to look mousy with my frizzy hair all pulled back and no makeup. But then right before the day, I seriously cried because I felt so uncomfortable with the idea! Man, I'm shallow... haha.
I finally just gave in and wore the darn make up and hair gel... and I didn't beat myself up over it!! |

| I use cetephil also. It works great and is very good for your skin. Walmart has their brand really cheap under $5.00. If you buy the name brand it is $10 and over a bottle :flower: _________________

| I have found this product from Twinlab that is called Na-Pca. It is the natural factor that is found in skin that keeps it moist. I ahve used it all week and have not had any problems with it. It dries quickly and doesn't leave a residue. The bottle says that you can use it as a body spray, on your face and as a conditioner. They also make an aloe vera one. It is $4-$7 depending on where you buy it and it works great on my skin so far. I haven't tried it as a hari conditioner.
