If you are hungry your dose is most likely off. You may need to lower or increase it. The best way to determine is to do a 'skip day'. That means take no hcg that day and eat your normal 500 cal. diet. If you are MORE hungry, your dose was too low, you should increase it by 25 IU and see how you feel (you may have to play with this to get the right dose). If you are LESS hungry on your skip day, you need to lower your dose (again, going in 25 IU increments).

What a great source of information!!! Thank you so much for sharing~ We are doing the HCG drops and they are measured in mL. The recommended amount for us is .5mL so if we do the "skip day" to determine whether our dosage is off do we increase/decrease by .25mL?? Not sure how to calculate IU into mL... (We are starting our VLCD tomorrow and I am hoping we don't have to do this, BUT if we do I want to be prepared to resolve any hunger pains)

Yes, you have it right. Basically, if you are using 1 cc insulin needles, it will be the 25 mark on the syringe. That is .25cc That is 250iu so you will decrease or increase it to 225 or 275. That will be .22 or .27 on the needle. It will be two or three marks above or below the 25 mark. I hope this helps.

Using a 5000iu amble of HCG at does of 250iu or .25cc, you get 20 days. Does that make sense?
