Ok, so I bucked up, printed out the original manuscript and took it with me to my MD who didn't know anything about the diet. I explained that I was worried about my heart because it felt funny one day and I was super light-headed, etc. I haven't been taking any supplements during the VLCD. He didn't say much either way, but had the nurse take my blood and did an EKG (BTW, I'm in perfect health and 37 yrs). The doc commented that something was working with this diet because at the time I lost 19 lbs in 3.5 weeks and in his words, "can still walk without passing out". The test results came back and all of my levels are perfect. Glad to get the reassurance that the diet isn't messing me up in a way I'm not aware of. BTW, all the nurses wanted to know about the diet.

What a relief! Isn't that good news? Not to mention a feather in your cap because you got the interest of the nurses!

I'm glad your doctor did not discourage you.
